Our Consultancy business provides front end/early phase studies and advisory to markets including hydrogen, carbon capture, aquaculture, offshore wind, electrical transmission as well as low carbon oil and gas field development. The team is also developing and expanding our offerings in permitting/licensing, regulatory, due diligence, ESG, and origination.

As the Project Controls Lead within the Owner's Engineering team, you will provide leadership for cost control, planning & risk across an exciting portfolio of energy transition projects, particularly in the areas of Hydrogen, Ammonia and CCUS.

You will be embedded within client teams as the client representative controlling the projects as well as supporting them to develop their tools, systems and strategies to deliver on their groundbreaking projects across the globe.

What will you be doing?

  • Oversee development of the projects from pre-feasibility, feasibility, concept, FEED and on to EP
  • Develop the client’s tools, systems & procedures in relation to cost control, planning & risk

- Contribute to the development of the client’s project financial performance and risk strategy - Assist in the development of RFQs, Tender Evaluations and Contractor Selection - Prepare submissions for the client’s Decision Gate processes

  • Act as the client’s representative on all project controls matters to secure financial performance for the projects:

- Monitor and analyze financial trends and impact of risks and changes - Prepare Contractor Progress & Performance reports to help control, forecast and report the costs and cash-flow - Perform Progress Measurement & Forecasting for the Owner’s Engineering scope for both internal and client

  • Promote commercial awareness within the project teams and wider organisations
  • Ensure efficient communication across all interfaces within projects
  • Maintain and improve Aker Solutions longstanding reputation as a preferred supplier

We think you should have:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance or Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience within the main process sectors (energy, petrochemicals, chemicals), primarily in onshore operations
  • Experience in the development of Hydrogen, Ammonia and CCUS projects would be preferred but not essential
  • Previous Owner's Engineering / PMC experience would be an advantage, but experience with a developer / operator executing large projects would also be attractive
  • Good financial, commercial and technical understanding of execution in projects
  • Broad experience of different project controls tools & systems and with the flexibility & adaptability to accommodate different client and/or contractor requirements

- Experience of SAP Finance and CCS is an advantage - Excellent Excel skills are essential

  • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage stakeholders within the client, contractor and AKSO organizations
  • Ability to take initiative and to be flexible
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English
