Overview of the role
The Project Controls Team Leader is responsible for providing procurement, financial, schedule, quality, and document control services for Capital delivery at Nyrstar Port Pirie. This involves:
- Reporting on cost & schedule, both at the project and portfolio level to all levels of Nyrstar management
- Management and delivery of all purchasing and invoicing requirements for capital projects
- Management and delivery of all capital financial requirements, including but not limited to: project estimating, budget allocations, capital submissions, accruals, capital plan development and all associated reporting
- Document control, including uploading of all relevant documentation into the Nyrstar Document Management System and ownership and maintenance of all capital project delivery documents and standards
- Provide information and advice to all departments of Nyrstar for Capital as required, under the roles scope of services
This is a role filled between working in Adelaide and in Port Pirie, South Australia on a Monday to Friday roster.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Effective and timely reporting on Capital cost and schedule performance at the project and portfolio level
- Management of steps for the project Application and Inclusion in the Capital Plan (AICP) and CEA review and submittal including performing process and quality checks. This will also include facilitation of the Capital Review Committee meetings
- Ensuring high quality project definition and preparation of projects submitted for inclusion in the Capital Plan
- Provide SAP support to the Project Leaders and stakeholders
- Supporting Project leaders and team with cost and schedule control
- Supervision of the Project Controls team
Qualifications/Experience & Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Experience working with project planning preferably in mining / metals or heavy industry is highly regarded
- Ability to use initiative and pre-empt needs
- Keen attention to detail
